This club game it was time for 28mm, Black Powder 2, all my AWI miniatures and a gun raiding scenario (a la Hubbarton): in the middle of the road 3 siege guns with carts that were stolen from the Brits, From both sides of the shorter edges of the 8x6 table brigade after brigade of the Rebels or crown forces would appear and fight for the guns and maybe even USE them.
Bart played the French, John the Americans, Peter and Alisdair the British. In the beginning it was very thrilling and intense as the both advance forces (riflemen, dragoons, pickets and natives fought over the guns and captured them. ... then they just lined up brigade after brigade and then :
had a te a te, a dance, a Georgian moment! Both generals came forth and admitted to a draw!!! I never witnessed that in my life, mon dieu, why do I do scenarios ... what the hell real gentlemen indeed, too gentle for my taste! They should be court marshalled!
The British just had 1 gun (2 VP) but killed 2 rebel units (2 VP) and the American had 2 guns (4VP), and were happy just to withdraw. As in turn the British did as well. NOBODY dared an late all out charge just to get one unit of the opponent on their VP record. Ts,ts,ts, oh tempora, oh mores!
