Showcase 8th: 6mm WW1 - Guns Of August

This is one of my more crazy projects. The miniatures went smaller yet from 10mm to 6mm, and the rules were actually from a boardgame (Avalon Hill 1980 Guns of August) - Heretical!! That actually describes best the reaction of most of my fellow wargame club mates. Nevertheless I always wanted some miniscale/vs grand scale map wargame going boardgame with the real "General Headquarter" feeling, and GOA was always close to my heart. The Covid 19 gap just gave  me time to really finish this, figures were mostly Baccus 6mm, and some Irregular miniatures, a few airplanes were 3D print, the map/mats, I re-designed after the game board and produced it with Tinywargames mats. Once the club will re-open the complete European WW1 is waiting for me, month by month ...

Archduke Carl‘s Infantry regiment and then some ...

The regiment was raised after the War of Austrian Succcession and served in the Seven Years War at the battle of Kolin, Breslau, Leuthen, Hochgiersdorf, Torgau and the storming of Schweidnitz. Yet again I only choose them on aesthetical reasons for their wonderful uniforms. I also painted some 6pdrs and a command stand and a Staff officer/command token. I'm working further on some more gins from Front Rank and Wargames Foundry as well as the fabulous Hungarian Huzzars of Nadasdy ... more to come ... :)

Re-inforcements are coming! - Hungarians!

Joseph Esterhazy regiment (I.R 37) - raised during the War of Austrian Succession, it participated in the Seven Years War in the battles at Prag, Breslau, Hochkirch and Liegnitz. I chosen them mainly because of the nice uniform. ... I also started the  Erzherzog Carl(I.R. 2) ... indeed also because of the nice colour combination. As most miniature provider sell Austrins SYW infantry with PomPoms -  I was naturally going with the 1762 uniform versions.

7th Showcase - The Russian Seven Years War Army

These are my six brigades of Russians on the SYW. The Miniatures are Mostly Crusader miniatures, some Foundry and the flags are all "self-made" from Kronoskaf.

I opted for the Winter uniform for all, out of fashionable personal preference and because all had the same - only the colour base defines then a regiment, and one can experiment with different regt. sizes ... as some were notoriously under their nominal strength ...

6th Showcase: Franco Prussian War 10mm

I'm happy to announce that I finished the French side of my FPW project finally (after Y.E.A.R.S. of abandonment) the complete Bourbaki's Guard corps vs the Prussian v. Alvensleven's III corps plus the infamous v. Rheinbaben Cavalry corps (5th Division)! (Where ever I found, I used the parade uniforms for the more veteran units, especially in the Prussian side to make the  whole lot not too uniform) :)

Terrain wise, I‘ve started on (smaller scaled) villages and will continue with woods and orchards and maybe another tinywargames mat ... or maybe later some French infantry re-inforcements ... who knows... but for now the forces seem to be an alright and interesting match while within the historic bounds ...
