Tommies to the front!

Some weeks ago I ordered some nice minis from Scarab-minatures / Great War miniatures to kick start my late war British Platoon. I also ordered from Trenchworx the Mark V, which comes modular so that one can built the male, female and hermaphrodite versions - a very beautiful resin cast indeed! The earth magnets provided are very strong, three possible inlets are provided, but one is more than sufficient. The only downside is that the machine guns are resin as well and immensely brittle. I managed to break three MGs and one gun!!!, so that I decided to replace the guns entirely with plastic tubes and metal wire and "green stuff" to prevent future damage and loss.

The Figures from Great War miniatures were as usual a pleasure to paint - even the British drab. As with my storm troopers I painted them a la "through the mud" and the glasses of the gas masks got a wee drip of glossy varnish for effect...

I'm looking forward to throw them into battle!

Next on the list is another Landsknechts pike block (a la "under attack") and some Italian-Borgia-Popish Rodelero guard ... watch this space!

Some Junior Commanders leading the teams
The LMG teams and the Rifle grenade teams

And some bombers
and normal rifle men

  1. That's brilliant how you do the bases different colors.

The gender fluid Mark V is a work of art. I wish I had thought to mount the weapons like that too.

You're both an amazing painter and good idea guy.

    1. Thank you for the compliments! With the bases, I just got fed up one day not really be able to tell bombers and rifleman apart ... so... With resin (tank) models its very easy to drill in (with a dremel), and the plastic tubes you get in a modellers shop - the stuff architects need in all shapes and forms ...

    1. Thank you Phil, its very addictive to paint trench war fare style and mess every thing up, I must admit. The Trenchworx Mark V is a wonderful model, very easy to paint.
